Dear Susan,
Thank you so much for your kind words. It is so nice to hear from you. I remember the great times you and Marlie had in Pembroke in the good old days. I thought I had your email address but apparently I do not.
Kind regards to you and your family.

I was very moved to read of Marilyn’s passing. She was so warmly responsive, with an inner glow that could light up a conversation or a room. I knew her just a bit when we were teenagers, through my sister Gail and her friend Pat. Years later we reconnected at weekly tennis, and again for a number of years at Mont Saint Marie. Still later, even though confusion had set in, we enjoyed lunches with Gail, Pat, and Marilyn’s best friend from high school, Susan (Runge) Dowler. (I will never forget the joyful reunion she had with Susan!) We all share some hilarious “Marly moments”, and rides to and from were fun and entertaining, with Marilyn displaying her surprising knowledge of the various cars on the road. A few visits at Courtyards were the last we had once Covid appeared, but I am left with the memory of being greeted with that beautiful sunshine smile, and the proud and loving tour she always gave of the family photos by her door. Bruce and I send heartfelt, fond condolences to Stephanie, Shelby, Michael, her sister Sharon, and their families.

Marilyn taught me grade 9 French at Confederation High School in the 90s. She was so kind and caring as she spent a considerable amount of time helping to pull me through the subject. I would not have passed if she didn’t spend time after class working with me. I was so fortunate to have the opportunity to thank Marilyn again years later when (coincidentally) Jack hired me at CHUM radio. A career still hold today. Sending love and fond memories to the Derouin family.

Dear Stephanie, Shelby and Michael,
My deepest condolences on the passing of your mother. Your names would come up frequently as we worked together in the Language Department at West Carleton S.S. Marilyn was a sparkling, warm and reliable colleague, who brought fun to the learning in her classroom and fun to the staff activities as we opened up a new school together.
My sympathy to your entire family on your great loss.

Dear Sharon and family:
I was so saddened to read in the paper about Marilyn's passing. As you know we went way back to high school and I used to stay at your place for weekends quite often. Then in recent years we were able to lunch together with other friends. As well, my Mom and your Mom, Annabelle, were friends such a long time ago in Admaston. What goes around comes around it seems.
My thoughts are with you at this sad time.
Sincerely,
Pat Elliott Orme

Dear Pat,
Thank you for your kind words and memories. I remember your visits to our house in Pembroke. I thought you and Marley were so beautiful and vivacious and thought I would have to try to be just like the two of you when I got a bit older. It is so nice to hear from you. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Sharon
