Obituary of Jacqueline Pomeroy
It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Mary Pomeroy, a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and caregiver. Jackie as she was affectionately known, passed away November 20, 2023 in her home, surrounded by her loved ones after fighting cancer with courage and dignity.
Jackie was born on May 9th, 1962 to parents James Pomeroy and Celine (McMenamin) Pomeroy. She was sister to Michael (Marie), Oliver (Rudy) and Victor (Priyanka), aunt to Elizabeth (Tyler) and David (Paula), great aunt to Aaron and Peter. She went to Notre Dame High School in Dublin, followed by Trinity College Dublin. She started her career as a physiotherapist and later pursued a masters at University of Strathclyde. She married Kevin Goheen May 9th, 1987 and had her beautiful daughter Kate (Lana). She continued working in Canada at the Civic Hospital, Women’s College Hospital and PSI.
In 2011 she met Mike Ibrahim. They were married Aug 17, 2013. She had a strong maternal relationship with Erika (Mauricio), Zachary (Kayla) and Adam. She was a cherished colleague to everyone she worked with and adored by all her clients. She ended her career at Pelvic Support Physiotherapy and Live by Pilates. If you had the opportunity to connect with Jackie you had a friend for life. From her early years in Ireland Jackie kept in touch with many friends, neighbours and colleagues. She was an accomplished pianist and constant learner of Physiotherapy, Pilates and Yoga. She was always on the go traveling, swimming, cooking, golfing, walking, skiing, tennis and knitting.
A Celebration of Jackie’s Life will be held on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 from 2 to 4 pm at Highland Park Cemetery, 2037 McGee Side Road, Carp with light refreshments. Donations in memory of Jacqueline to the OTTAWA HOSPITAL or HOSPICE CARE OTTAWA would be appreciated
