Obituary of Jeremy Vezina
Jeremy Ross Vezina “Jer/Vez,” born August 17, 1977, passed away suddenly February 7, 2024 at the age of 46 as the result of a ruptured aneurysm. He is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Pamela (Dancey) and their beloved son Owen. Precious son of Michael Vezina (Susan) and Roberta Pinkney (Dave), cherished brother of David, Brett (Jessica), Meredith (Laura), Jaclyn (Kyle), son-in-law of John and Cathy Dancey, brother-in-law of Greg (Sarah) and Christopher (Trista) and the best uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
Jeremy is predeceased by his father, Michael Vezina (2022), and both sets of grandparents Rosario & Genevieve Vezina and Ross & Patricia Wilkinson.
Born in Newmarket, ON, but raised primarily in North Bay, ON, Jeremy, Pam and Owen settled in Ottawa, ON and created a beautiful life. Jeremy lived life to the fullest, blessed with the most wicked sense of humour, and the ability to make everyone around him laugh and feel at ease. Jeremy’s passion for life and dedication to his family and friends was unmatched. He was a wise counsel to friends and family who were in need of comfort, support or advice.
Jeremy held many titles in his life: outstanding son, sibling and friend, skilled tradesman, above-average-cook, entrepreneur, and the successful Eastern Ontario Territory Manager for Garland Inc. but, the role he treasured the most was being Owen’s father and Pam’s partner in life. He loved nothing more than spending time with them, whether at the rink cheering on Owen, his pride and joy, travelling to new places, or staying home and simply hanging out together, as a family. Jeremy was also a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan, was in the process of perfecting his golf game, and loved spending time at the lake, both skidooing in the winter and boating in the summer.
In his final act of kindness, Jeremy has donated his organs to save the lives of numerous individuals.
Our most sincere thanks to the wonderful staff in the Intensive Care Unit at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, for the care they provided Jeremy and the support they provided to his friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to Movember for Men’s Health & Prostate Cancer and/or the Canadian Mental Health Association. Jeremy’s co-workers have also set up a Go Fund Me page in support of Pam and Owen.
A celebration of life will take place on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Highland Park Cemetery, Cole Funeral Services, 2037 McGee Side Road, Carp, ON from 1:00-4:00p.m. On August 16th, 2024, there will be an annual golf tournament at Loch March Golf Club, further details will follow at a later date.
