Obituary of Constance Parent
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Constance (Connie) Parent on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the age of 87, surrounded by family at Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice. Connie’s life was a testament to the power of strength and unwavering devotion to her family. Through every triumph and challenge, Connie stood as a pillar of resilience, courage, and love. Connie leaves behind her beloved husband and soulmate of 65 years, Maurice (Moe) Parent, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventures. Together, Connie and Moe raised two remarkable sons, Michel, and Gilles, instilling in them the values of compassion, integrity, and hard work. Her grandchildren, Julia, Jacob, Isabelle, and Sebastien will always remember her unconditional love and warmth. Connie, lovingly known as Nanny, was a constant source of joy and comfort in their lives. Daughters-in-law, Donna, and Karen are profoundly grateful for being welcomed into Connie’s life and for the beautiful friendship and trust they shared. Following her fulfilling career with the CBC, Connie and Moe chose to settle in the tranquil embrace of Merrickville, ON, where they built a haven of warmth and welcomeness. Their home became a place for family gatherings – where laughter and stories mingled with the aroma of Connie’s delicious meals, and where cherished memories were woven together. Connie had a love for baking and gardening. Her green thumb brought beauty to every corner of her home. But above all, she had an unparalleled gift for making others feel cherished and valued. Her genuine interest in the lives of those around her, coupled with her selfless nature, endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Friends and family are invited to gather in celebration of Connie's life at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, located at 2500 Baseline Road, on Thursday, March 21, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a Memorial Service to follow in the Chapel at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice.
