Obituary of Theresa Marie Viau (nee Fong)

Theresa (Terry) Marie Viau died suddenly and peacefully at the age of 93 On March 23, 2024, Ottawa, wife to the late Maxime Arthur Viau, beloved daughter of the late John (Jack) Fong and the late Catherine Anastasia Content, cherished daughter-in-law to the late Maxime Arthur Viau (Sr.) and the late Evelyn Gladys Jette, and much loved sister-in-law to the late Maurice Jette Viau and the late Ron Wistaff. She is survived by her great grandson Adrien, her sisters Catherine and Yvonne Delafosse (nee Fong), and her brothers John (Jack) Fong, and Gerald (Jerry) Deane. She leaves behind her six children Mark, Guy, Lynn, Jan, Claud and Keith, her sisters Marie and Diane, her brother David, including her sisters-in-law Murielle and Jean. She will be forever missed by her devoted and loving granddaughter Samantha. She was affectionately called "Mamere" by her grandchildren Paige and Christopher, and her great granddaughters Marley, Samara and Alexis. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces Sandra Manon Viau and Josee Lynn Viau, as well as by many more nieces and nephews, and by Barbara St. Pierre and Linda Clermont who has held a special place in Theresa's heart. Many thanks to the staff at Granite Ridge Community for their support and care. Theresa spent many hours for many years working tirelessly along side her husband in support of various charities around Ottawa. She never shied away from providing support or assistance to those in need and strongly believed that it is important to always give back to the community. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice or to the Ottawa Food Bank would be greatly appreciated.
