Obituary of Sandra MacLaurin (nee Moir)

Sandra was born May 28th 1946 and passed away peacefully on April 26th 2024.  Sandra was the deeply loved wife of Blair, cherished mother of her two sons Kyle (Tanya) and Kenneth (Leslie) and step-mother of Wendy, beloved “Grammie” to her grandchildren Jett, Arlen and Lewis, and loving sister to her three brothers, Ron, Bruce and Doug.  She was a caring aunt, sister-in-law and cousin to many in her extended MacLaurin and Moir families, and a dear friend to so many people over the years.  She is predeceased by her parents Jim and Shirley Moir.  Her kindness, compassion and love for her family and friends are the pillars of who Sandra was – and what she taught all of us over the years.  We have been blessed to have been part of her life journey.  We will miss her beautiful smile, her laughter, her love of cooking and the warmth and kindness she brought to our family.  Her love of art and the many paintings of flowers and landscapes she created over the years will live on with us, along with our memories.

A Celebration of Sandra’ s Life will be held at the Pinecrest Reception Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Sunday, June 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. Words of remembrance at 3pm.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Dementia Society of Ottawa (Support from Dementia Society of Ottawa) The Dementia Society (dementiahelp.ca).
