Obituary of Joseph James Gilchrist

Peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, May 30th, 2024, at the age of 90. Beloved and cherished husband of the late Shirley for 67 years. Loving father of Kimberley (John) and Jeff. Proud grandfather to Brandon and much-loved great grandfather to Finnley and Summer. Son of the late Stewart (Buck) and Mary Gilchrist. He will be fondly remembered by Amanda Kerr (Matt Lavoie) and Melissa Kerr (Rickey Dawe) and missed by his many nieces and nephews. Joe enjoyed many summers  at the family cottages on Long Lake and then Crosby Lake. They were fortunate to enjoy winters in Florida for over 30 years. A celebration of Joseph’s life will take place at the Pinecrest Reception Centre, 2500 Baseline Road on Friday, June 14th ,2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Words of Remembrance will take
place at 2:00 p.m. An inurnment will follow at the Pinecrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joe can be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation.
