I just heard from a mutual CIDA friend of Andres' passing. Andre and I spent many hours battling it out on the squash courts in the basement of the CIDA building in Gatineau. When I was posted to Tanzania, we needed an engineer to take charge of building scores of houses for our railway maintenance crews in Morogoro. The project had been languishing for some time, but after Andre took over thing began to fly. The housing was finished in record time. On may occasions when I was back in Ottawa for CIDA meetings, Andre and Dana gave me a place to stay. Their house was always filled with laughter, music and the best food! Family came first for Andre. He devoted a lot of time to renovating a nearby house so that his three sons and their families would have a place to live and remain close together. When I told him I was trying to sell the sporty little car belonging to our son, he immediately took it for a test drive and bought it for one of his sons! We have many fond memories of Dana and Andre. Our condolences to Mark, Jeremy and Richard and their families. Andre's passing is a big loss for us all. Jack and Marilyn Adams
