Obituary of Nicholas "Nick" Rene Patrick Hamel
Nicholas "Nick" Rene Patrick Hamel, 38, of Ottawa, Ontario, left this world on June 9, 2024.
Nicholas was the kindest of souls, always ready to help others and protect those more vulnerable than him. He had many struggles but bravely endured them all with courage grace and resilience.
Nicholas' Facebook page was full of pictures of loved ones and friends along with inspirational quotes. He always wanted to lift others up by sharing positive and often funny messages.
He had the most beautiful eyes, the best laugh, the sweetest smile, the biggest heart and he gave the BEST hugs.
His passing has left us all gutted and broken into a billion pieces. But Nick wouldn't want us to be sad, but rather to remember the good times, forgive the bad and cherish our memories knowing that his struggles are over and that he is finally at peace.
He would say "Promise me you won't forget, our laughs, our jokes, our smiles, our conversations, our plans, our tears, our memories, our experiences, our friendship"
Nicholas was the beloved son of Nancy Kehoe (nee Butler), loving brother to Genevieve (Jenny) Charbonneau (nee Hamel), and adoring Uncle to Emma and Wesley Charbonneau. He was the cherished stepson of Gary Kehoe.
Nicholas also leaves behind his birth father, Guy Hamel and wife Kim as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins on his birth father's side of the family.
Nicholas was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Maude Butler (Grandma B), maternal grandfather, Lieutenant Edward Patrick John Butler of the Ottawa Fire Department, paternal grandmother, Huguette Hamel, and paternal grandfather, Rene Hamel.
