Obituary of Costas Andreou
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing, at age 77, of our beloved Costas Andreou after a lengthy stay in hospital. He passed away on July 23rd in Montreal where he lived since immigrating to Canada from Cyprus in 1975.
Costas was a hard-working devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Panayiota Andreou, his daughters Vana (Mario Daddario) and Andie (George Rigakos) that he was so proud of. He instilled the importance of hard work and of education to his daughters from a very young age. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Elizabeth and Lucas that he loved and adored beyond words.
His kind, polite, friendly, easy going and energetic personality and positive outlook on life will be missed tremendously by everyone including his large extended family of brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews and many friends.
He courageously handled a lifelong multitude of illnesses that he was faced with over decades. He tackled his health challenges with grace and positivity, never once complaining.
He was a kind selfless man, a talented musician and a war veteran. He helped many people over the years, oftentimes putting others ahead of himself.
Visitation for family and friends will be at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary on Sunday July 28th from 3:00 - 4:30 pm and again on Monday, July 29th from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Pinecrest Cemetery following the service.
