Obituary of Florence Fraser

February 24, 1935 – August 13, 2024

Beloved wife of John for over 64 years. Loving and dedicated mother of Anne (John), Marie (Steve), Janet (Paul), Kathleen (George), and James (Lisa) and grandmother of Matthew, Liam, Adrien, and Alexander. She was predeceased by her parents May and James McKinnon. Dear friend of Marilyn Ogilvie. Florence graduated from Immaculata HS and was one of the first women graduates of St. Patrick's College in Ottawa. After graduating from the Ontario College of Education in Toronto, she taught math and Latin at Fisher Park and Laurentian HSs. Her lifelong respect for education was a gift she passed on to her children and grandchildren. 
 

Her faith was her bedrock, as a long-time member of St. George's and Our Lady of Fatima RC parishes. Her commitment to her family was unwavering; she was the heart of her home, providing boundless support and love to her children, grandchildren and husband, John. Her generosity to all seemed tireless. She enjoyed many summers at the family cottage on Lake Pemichangan and family trips across the country. She was always up for an outing - raspberry picking with grandchildren or skiing in the Gatineaus with John. Her enthusiasm was contagious - "Isn't this delightful!". 

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am August 27, 2024 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, with public visitation at 10 am and reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
