Obituary of Marie-Claire Jacqueline Pereira
Mme Marie-Claire Jacqueline Pereira, née Aubin, aged 90, passed away peacefully on
Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Ottawa General Hospital after a long battle with
breast cancer, a bipolar schizoaffective disorder and Alzheimer’s.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Clement Parish at Saint Anne Church, Ottawa,
Ontario, Canada, on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 13h00. Burial will follow at Pinecrest
Cemetery.
Marie-Claire was born April 9, 1934, in Enghien-les-Bains, France, to Léon and
Geneviève Aubin. She attended l’École de Tourisme, Nice and worked in France, Spain
and in the UK where she met her husband, Mr. Ralph Pereira. They married in France in
1963 and returned to live in London, England where their only child, Manuela, was
born.
Emigrating to Montréal, Canada, in 1970, Marie-Claire became a homemaker. Moving
to Ottawa in 1972 she pursued part-time employment over the years. Her hobbies and
interests included family, reading, gardening, knitting, the arts, and the outdoors.
Mme Pereira is survived by her spouse Ralph, her daughter Manuela, her son-in law
Christophe and grandsons Julien Jean, Jean Sébastien and Jean Emmanuel, her
brother, Pierre Pascal, many nephews, and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Marie-Françoise, Dominique, Bernard and
François Xavier and their parents Léon and Geneviève Aubin.
