Obituary of Linda Pruchnicky
It is with profound sadness and a heart full of love that we remember Linda Lauraine Antoinette Pruchnicky (née Kohut). She was a woman of grace, conviction, and unwavering love for her family, especially her beloved husband, Ostap, her children Olexandra (Jasper), Stepan (Andrea), Adrian (Adria), and grandchildren, Luka, Deanna, and Rayisa. She passed peacefully on November 5th in her home town of Ottawa, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and kindness that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She was not only a loving wife and mother, but also a cherished sister to Elaine Clark (Jim) and Stephen Kohut (Irene), a beloved daughter to Annette and the late Joseph Kohut, and a friend to many. She always beamed with pride when sharing stories about her loved ones.
Linda was a woman who embraced life with laughter, a nurturing spirit, and a deep appreciation for the beauty around her. She loved the simple joys of gardening, baking, singing, dancing a good polka, and the companionship of her cherished cat, Dexter. Whether walking in nature or sharing a story, she brought lightness and joy to every moment.
A dedicated advocate for international education in Ukraine, Linda found purpose and fulfillment in her work. She was deeply involved with her church and took immense pride in her heritage, dedicating herself to the Ukrainian community in Ottawa for the past 74 years.
Known for her calming presence, she was a grounding force for everyone around her. She taught us that strength does not have to be loud—it can be gentle; it can be calm. She embodied resilience and peace, reminding her loved ones that true strength comes from within.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and in the quiet strength she shared so freely.
