Obituary of Sabina Krzesniak
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sabina Krzesniak on Friday, November 8, 2024, at General Hospital at the age of 93.
Sabina was born on May 16, 1931, in Antonówka, Poland, to Marianna and Józef Ukleja. She was the beloved sister of Włodek, Bronek, and Helena. She married Kazimierz Krzesniak, and together they built a life centered around family, hard work, and faith.
In April 1962, after selling their farmland, Sabina and Kazimierz bravely immigrated to Canada aboard the ship Stefan Batory, arriving in Quebec with four young children, a few suitcases, and just thirty dollars in their pockets. They settled in the "Vets" neighborhood on Anna Avenue, where, after years of dedicated work and sacrifice, in only 4 years time they purchased their beloved family home. For nearly 60 years, Sabina and Kazimierz lived there, making lifelong friends within the Polish immigrant community, including the Skrobek, Jackielaski, Wolchaczki, and Macies families. They were proud members of St. Hyacinth's Church and cherished their ties to the Polish community.
Sabina’s happiest time was when her home was filled with family, eating all her fantastic Polish meals, she often said, "look at my beautiful family, look how rich I am!"
Sabina was devoted to her family, which includes her late husband Kazimierz; her four children: Jasia (Roy,), the late Kaz, Zenek (Tanya), and Hanna (Miguel); seven grandchildren: Jayson (Martina), Zenek (Tammy), twins Jasia and Selena, Sofia (David), Kristina (Javier), (Sam) and Kayla; and six great-grandchildren: Brendan, Darryk, Jayden, Sophie, Sarah, and little Kaz. She also leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews in Canada, as well as extended family in Poland.
Sabina will be deeply missed by all who knew her as Mom, Mama, Ciocia Babcia, Gammy, Lady, and Grandma. She will forever remain in our hearts.
Rest in Peace, Sabina
Always in our hearts, forever missed.
