Obituary of Elaine Aitkenhead

November 22, 1948 - November 12, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister Elaine Aitkenhead. Elaine was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Ottawa with her family as a teenager.

She joined the Public Service upon her high school graduation and made her way up the ranks, retiring in 2005.

Elaine was known for her thoughtfulness, kindness, generosity, and quick wit, thereby fostering countless and lasting friendships throughout her life. She was an avid fan of music and sports, trips to sunny Mexico, and a good mystery novel.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Phyllis, and her nephew Michael Aitkenhead; and is survived by her brothers, Bob and Dan (Joanne), her sister Lee (Harry), five nieces and nephews, three grandnephews and one grandniece. Naine cherished and was cherished by her family.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 21st at 2:00pm at Cole Funeral Services, reception to follow. A private Interment will follow at a later date.
