Obituary of Donald Herron

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Herron on December 2,
2024 at the age of 81. Son of the late Andrew Herron & Martha ( nee Mintha ). Beloved
husband of the Late Janet (nee Donaldson). Loving Father to Kenneth (Anne). Proud
Grandfather to Bradley and Daniel. Survived by his sister Marie, and Brother Mike
(Wanda). Predeceased by his brother Rene (Judy).

Don worked as a well respected heavy truck mechanic and trucker. He had his own shop
for many years. He was also the head Mechanic for the City of Kanata and Glen Tay
Transportation. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

Don spent his last 7 years of his life at the Valley Manor nursing home in Barry’s Bay. We
wish to acknowledge the staff for their unwavering compassion, kindness and care. We
also want to acknowledge the doctors and nurses at the ICU in Pembroke Hospital and
St. Frances in Barry’s Bay. Our family will be forever grateful.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Highland Park Cemetery, 2037 McGee Side Road,
Carp Ontario on Friday 13, 2024 from1-3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Valley Manor Long Term Care Home on Don’s behalf
would be appreciated.
