Heather and Greg…I couldn’t manage to get close to you on Tuesday. Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss.
As we heard so often Don loved and lived life to the fullest.
I was fortunate enough to work with him at St Peter’s High School, so supportive and plain old-fashioned nice.
Look after yourselves…

My sincere condolences to Heather and the family. Don was my Phys Ed teacher at St Paul. I will always remember him for his smile and his sense of humor. He was always encouraging and positive. Later, our paths crossed as adults and I would see him at the board office when I was the Phys Ed consultant and he was doing work on the board wide exams. He always had a bounce in his step and a kind word to say. I was thrilled I had a chance to meet up with him and Mike Baine in Florida on March break one year when I went down to see my parents. Rest in peace Don.

I’m so sad to hear this!
He was a great teacher for me. As a high school student he gave me a budget to organize and run a first aid club through his Phys Ed department. We responded to calls within the school when students were injured. I went on to get my B.Sc. in Human Kinetics, and become a paramedic—thanks for being one of my biggest supporters Mr. Doyle! Rest in Peace.

Sorry to hear of the passing of your husband and father. I had ‘Mr Doyle’ as a gym teacher at Frank Ryan. I adored him- definitely larger than life and had the biggest, warmest smile on the planet. It was almost 60 years ago but I remember the man well- such an impact he had on me.

I definitely remember Mr.Doyle from the initial years at St.Paul’s. From 1978-1981. The students vs teachers volleyball matches were epic! I remember one year we were beating the teachers until Mr. Doyle amped up his game! I remember getting a spike ride to the head! Miss Jefferies(Mrs Murphy now) and Mr. Doyle led a fabulous phys ed department! Rest in peace. Maddy Wilson

My deepest sympathies to Heather and her family. Don was my first Physical Education Department Head at St. Paul's. He was witty, fun, competitive and truly was an exemplary model for both staff and students. I have many fond memories of working with him and the staff in the early years at St. Paul's in Bells Corners.
May his soul rest in peace and you cherish all the good memories.

Sending heartfelt condolences to the Doyle family. Mr. Doyle was my Phys Ed. Teacher at St. Paul High School. Definitely a favourite Teacher. His Phys. Ed Teacher version of Dad joke's to start classes were classics. A fond memory was successfully beating Don (Mr. Doyle) in a squash match. As I remember, it didn't go over too well. In the rematch Mr. Doyle thoroughly mopped the floor with me. Rest in peace Mr. Doyle.
